In the past summer, through the Royal Decree of 322 ES, King Sigismund bestowed yet another honor to his deceased mother; Queen Maya. This bestowal of such honor formed ‘The Order of Queen Maya and the Lily’ which is a Haeseni order of chivalry granted to the Haeseni most deserving through service in the government, theology, science and the wider arts. These honors are granted by the reigning Monarch of Haense and thereafter inducted into said order through an exclusive conference called the ‘Ceremony of the Lily’.

Through this royal edict, the class of 323 is afforded six rights and powers through the state of Haense:

I. All members shall be granted the right to bear heraldic arms.

II. All members shall be granted the right to bear arms of war within royal estates.

III. All members shall be granted the right to wear and display the Collar of the Lily on their shoulders and coat of arms respectively.

IV. All members shall be granted the right to display their rank of knighthood after their name.

V. The Chief Officer of the Order (Naumarian: Valtakossar) shall be granted the right to sit on the Aulic Council as an Aulic Minister.

VI. All members shall be granted to the right to royal solicitor when issued to court.

The Holy Orenian Empire

Our Imperial Majesty, Emperor Peter III signs a plentiful number of decrees, edicts, treaties and important documents thereof as it is his responsibility to carry out the Imperial Crown’s authority in the brightest grace of God. But, earlier last year His Imperial Excellency issued and confirmed the ‘Administrative Ordinances’ doctrine which sees the application and enforcement of Imperial Law through the Empire’s extended demesne.

This ordinance establishes a separate office of sorts to His Imperial Majesty’s cabinet and formally brings formation of the Lord Lieutenant ranking. These appointed selects for the position of Lord Lieutenant shall be duly entrusted with the application and enforcement of Imperial law, tax, and order in the region they are assigned to, as well as serving as His Imperial Majesty’s intermediary and deputy in resolving any conflicts arising from the implementation of legislation.

So far, His Imperial Majesty has appointed three Lord Lieutenant’s in three of the Empire’s demense’s, this list is as followed:

Lord Lieutenant of Reza-   His Highness, Prince Nikolas Barbanov

Lord Lieutenant of Owynsburg-   Mr. Henry Frederick Helvets

Lord Lieutenant of Northland-   Mr. Lazlo Korsakov

At the Publishing office of B&K Publishing, Lord Viktor and I commend the efforts of His Imperial Excellency by making further strides in ensuring Imperial Law is enforced throughout the Empire’s greater dominion.

For a more thorough analysis on the ordinance, please refer to the documentation signed by His Imperial Excellency, Emperor Peter III labeled ‘Administrative Ordinances’

“WE MAKE JEWELRY WITH THE BEST STANDARDS”

Helena, Oren

A fair sketching of the Imperial Crown Jewels & Fine Goods storefront

My partner and I ventured to Helena following a business’s request to visit and check out their jewelry. We arrived at Sir Henry Marshall’s shop, Imperial Crown Jewels, to find a lovely sophisticated store with wonderful exhibits of fine jewelry and gems. Sir Henry proceeded to walk us through how one would purchase custom jewelry. He went through many customizable features including engravings, types of bands, and gems to include in rings. He gave us a sample ring, although I would be using the word sample loosely. This ring was made with extreme care and craftsmanship. After spending only a short time there, we learned much about the wonderful shop and were able to make our decision on the quality of it. If you’re in need of any type of jewelry, from a wedding ring to an anniversary necklace, or even just a leisure purchase, this is the only jewelry store to go to. It can be found near the front of the city of Helena, it’s hard to miss!

Background info: established in 1751, originally started off in the auction house before moving to a store. We highly recommend going to visit Sir Henry and his jewelry store.

Haeseni Royal Standard

As the Scyffling invasion continues and the savages march closer to the Haeseni capital of New Reza, the Royal Duma remains prorogued so that The Baruch Administration and the Crown’s government can continue to give its full focus to the ongoing invasion. Since we can not give a proper update on the Royal Duma’s processions, instead we will give the updated roster for the Royal Duma, so that the Haeseni peerage and elected officials can be scrutinized if they are not doing their duty.

HISTORICAL FIGURE OF THE YEAR

Sergei Kovachev

Count of Turov

80e9ccb3c69608b78a6cdd5c467aa1c7.png

A mural of Sergei Kovachev, circa. 1579

Sergei Kovachev was the Count of Turov in the early years of Axios, as the son and heir of Duke Jan ‘the Old’. In his early years, young Sergei was raised within the old Carnatian keep of Gryphon’s Nest (Naumarian: Bihar), trained under the tutelage of mercenary Rickard Barrow with a penchant for a warrior lifestyle. Sergei at the raw age of fourteen married the ten-year elder Roseia, the sister of the then Duke of Courland, Percival Staunton, a match derived from peace talks following the Second Diet of Saltstone.

Soon enough conflict broke out between Courland and Carnatia despite their many attempts at reconciliation. At the time the military force within Carnatia mainly consisted of the condottieri Gold Corps, led by the once exiled Petyr of Haense. Sergei joined the ranks of Carnatians within the band and took a commanding role under his father in the famed Carnatian Hussars. He was present at the many skirmishes leading up to the battle of Kraken’s Watch, where he fought in the vanguard at its walls, breaching and securing victory. Sergei later joined his father just outside of the Courland capital and helped sack Riga in 1564 which marked the end of the conflict.

After the death of Sergei’s father Jan ‘the Old’, the paltry Carnatian council elected Petyr of Haense as their ruler, though he received the Barony of Turov along with feudal rights in the Bihar valley in compensation. The successes in the Riga War and the Erochland War led to Petyr of Haense being bestowed kingship by Emperor John III, and soon with it Sergei’s grant of the County of Turov. Haense experienced a time of relative peace, save for a few swiftly ended conflicts, in which Sergei built up a large force. Kovachev soon became the dominant levy in the overall Haense military with the leadership of the Count and his many sons.

The prosperous times under the Empire soon came to an end however with the assassination of Emperor John III, who was then succeeded by his son, John IV. During this time tensions grew between the Empire and their vassal, Haense, specifically between King Andrik II and the new Emperor, John IV. The Winter King soon declared a rebellion after a quick escalation in tension and his assassination of the Emperor. The Count of Turov believed this would bring an end to the Kingdom of Haense and as such did not support the Deep Cold Uprising. The son of Sergei, Viktor Kovachev, was sent to the palace by the Count to retrieve the sons of King Andrik II so they could be taken to safety. He then declared him and his men to the Emperor and separated the County from Haense, in favor of Emperor Philip I. Sergei persuaded many of the other nobles of the Kingdom to join him and soon had the men of Ruthern supporting his cause.

The Winter King had lost a large portion of his force to the Count’s efforts and soon gave up his rebellion, turning himself in to the Emperor to then be boiled in milk.  Sergei reunited his county under the Kingdom of Haense under their next leader, King Marius I and his Lord Regent, Prince Karl. He spent his remaining years bolstering the numbers of his levy in support of the Kingdom, and expanding the land held by Turov. He maintained a large force under the Kovachev banners up until his death in 1589, just before the beginning of the Coalition War.
